Hope sometimes can be a rare commodity. It also can be a dangerous one. Hope creates expectations and if they aren't fulfilled they can be devastating to people's dreams. In 2008 many of us responded to Barack Obama's campaign with hope and enthusiasm that I have never seen in my fifty years of working in politics.
